Overview:

At some stage in your project’s life, you will need to go into the world and introduce it. To potential creative collaborators, to development and production financiers, to distributors and sales agents. How you present yourself and your project can affect the speed with which you get engagement and move it forward.

Pitching isn’t everything, but it is the first step. Whether it is a verbal pitch, or written, learn how to pitch to development bodies, financiers and key lead cast.

In this Skills Lab you will learn:

– Tips for a captivating verbal pitch – from “elevator” to more formal.
– Constructive a written pitch document.
– How to get the attention of buyers, financiers and sales agents.
– Pitching your project to attach “name” cast.

Rosie Lourde is a content creator traversing roles, formats and genres, Digital series Starting From Now which she acts in a produces has amassed over 135 million views online, sold to SBS and won numerous awards. Rosie worked as a writer and director on horror anthology series Deadhouse Dark which will premiere at CanneSeries 2020; was writer, director and producer of virtual reality film Breach; producer on indie feature Skin Deep; acted in feature Chocolate Oyster which screened at Sydney Film Festival 2018; and recently directed her first feature Romance On The Menu. She was formerly the Investment Manager of Online Production at Screen Australia, as well as a co-Vice President of WIFT NSW and has recently joined the Gender Matters Taskforce.
