Producers and key creatives developing feature films must be able to understand a production budget, as well as how to construct and explain a finance plan and recoupment schedule to prospective financiers.
In both of these areas, Logie and BAFTA award winning producer Andrena Finlay has extensive practical hands-on experience. And is willing to share 40 years of experience in finance raising, negotiating distribution and managing production budgets.
Screen ABC is offering weekend courses that will give you a detailed foundation in these critical areas. You will be able to take the learnings into your own projects.
COURSE: Feature Film Financing and Recoupment
This workshop will teach how to construct a finance plan and a recoupment waterfall, essential knowledge for all producers. Content will include how to create a financing structure, what to offer in terms of recoupment (order and percentages), profit and copyright, what the marketplace obligations are, and how the producer offset is used in financing.

COURSE: A-Z Feature Film Budgeting
A producer must know how to budget their own projects. Without this, it is impossible to make considered judgement on costs – artistic and commercial. This workshop will give emerging producers the skills required to break down and budget a feature film, and prepare the corresponding QAPE spreadsheet for use in the finance plan.
